When people begin to notice that they may not hear as well as they once did or when they notice they do not hear as well as they should, they sometimes go to hearing testing services to get a hearing test. Hearing tests are often administered by audiologists, physicians who specialize in matters of the ear and hearing. By taking a hearing test people learn whether their hearing is bad enough to warrant a hearing aid. Some hearing testing services specialize in administering hearing tests to children and some can administer hearing tests to babies who cannot yet understand language. Audiologists can make diagnoses regarding a hearing problem based upon hearing tests and examinations. Many hearing testing centers also sell hearing aids and hearing aid accessories.
